 Bookstall
The bookstall is centred on two display stands at the rear corner of St Martin’s.

One holds Christian books for both adults, and children. They range from scriptural, (auto) biographical, personal experiences, to fiction. Books are also ordered for customers upon request and recommended titles ordered for stock. When ordering any discounts are taken advantage of and although there is little profit overall what there is, is used flexibly where needed to help fund Church books or perhaps to help fund Alpha resources.

The second display stand holds a range of Christian cards for each season, personal greetings cards and also scripture cards.

In the absence of Lesley Griffiths who administers the Bookstall, a simple system of paper communication and a locked wall safe box facilitates self-service by payment or I.O.U. and also orders. Give details of the title and author as well as your name and phone number please.

 Book Aid
This Charity is also administered by Lesley at the Bookstall. A box is used as the collection point of our now unneeded books and Bibles.

Book Aid sends any Christian Books donated to areas of the world where Christian Books and Bibles are in very short supply. Since Book Aid started 15 years ago 20 million Books and Bibles have been shipped to countries including Africa, Guyana, India. Iran, Slovakia, and Pakistan.

Quite apart from Book Aid, some home and Bible study groups subscribe regularly to another Charity that sends new Bibles all over the world.

Both the Bookstall and Book Aid are advertised in the Churches’ Newssheet with notice of new titles as they become available or a ‘Sale’, and a reminder to feed the Book Aid box.

 Library
Our Library is housed on a trolley at the back of St Martin’s and on some occasions, such as an Alpha course session, can be taken elsewhere (the Parish Centre), to become available wherever needed.

The books held have been given or loaned, to form the library.  All are available to be loaned out and lending is recorded simply in a book by title, date and borrower. The Library is overseen  by Rosie Berry and Sally Groves.
