Mothers Union
The aim of the Mothers’ Union is the advancement of the Christian religion in the sphere of marriage and family life. In order to carry this out there are five objects:
To uphold Christ’s teaching on the nature of marriage and to promote its wider understanding.
To encourage parents to bring up their children in the faith and life of the Church
To maintain a world-wide fellowship of Christians, united in prayer, worship and service
To promote conditions in society favourable to stable family life and the protection of children.
To help those whose family life has met with adversity.
The Knebworth branch of the Mothers' Union meets on the first Thursday of every month at 2.00 pm in St Martin's Parish Centre. Guests and new members are always welcome.
Mothers' Union Corporate Communion is on the last Thursday of every month, 10.00 am in St Martin's Church. Also on these Thursdays Mothers' Union members run a Coffee-Drop-In in St Martin's Parish Centre from 10.30 am where there is a warm welcome to anyone who would like to drop in for a hot drink and a friendly chat. New members are always welcome.
We are also involved in the weekly Parents/Carers and Toddlers' play-group 'Playaways' every Friday during school terms, 10.00 - 11.30 am in Knebworth Parish Centre. This gives an opportunity for parents/carers to meet together while their young children enjoy playing together with a huge variety of toys and activities.
