Mustard Seeds and Junior Church ( 0 - 10+ )
Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these (Matthew 19:14)
Mustard Seeds (0 – 4) is a fun, friendly group for babies and toddlers. They enjoy reading stories, simple craft activities and playing all based around a Bible theme each week. Although the group is run by parents, who are currently always with their children so we do not need to go through the CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) procedure, we are aware of the need to protect our children.
Junior Church is currently divided into two age groups, Lower (4 – 7) and Upper (7+ - 10+). We welcome all children, whether or not their parents are coming to Church. We use lectionary-based material as far as possible to help feel part of the Church Family. All our leaders and helpers are CRB vetted and we follow the Church Child Protection Policy. Activities include games, craft, story, Bible-reading, parties and occasional trips.
We meet every Sunday morning during the 10 am Parish Communion in St Martin's, except the fourth Sunday, which is a Family Service for all the Church Family.
We start in Church, go out to our activity time in the Parish Centre at an early point in the Service and return for Communion and a Show and Share time.
We start our activities all together, with an opening song, prayers and notices before going to age-related, group activities.
We take a small collection, which goes to support our WorldShare child, currently Cha Gui Jun, who lives in Myanmar (formerly Burma) and is one of nine children.
The money supports his education and Christian upbringing. The children send cards and letters to him. From time to time we use our collection money, or take part in fundraising activities, for other Church family needs.
We run the Family Nativity Service at Christmas and occasionally other Family Services during the year.
We pray for all our children and are happy to pray for particular issues on a confidential basis. We also have a Prayer Warrior scheme. Prayer Warriors are asked to include a particular child(ren) regularly in their prayers. Just speak to any leader.
New Helpers and Leaders are always welcome. Mustard Seeds would particularly welcome leaders who are not parents and are prepared to lead crafts/read Bible stories.

The Good Egg Club:
Is a Knebworth Family of Churches Club for children aged 4-11 years. It began from a vision of a Christian Holiday Club which would:
Help children from the Junior Churches in the village to understand that Christianity is not just for Sundays.
Give children outside the Church contact with Christian teaching.
... but the main element is FUN.
Currently there are three Good Eggs' events a year, generally taking place in Trinity Church, Park Lane:
Easter (the very first Club held was at Easter, and Good Eggs take their name from this): three morning sessions in Holy Week based on the Easter story
Summer: three morning sessions in one week of the Summer Holidays with a Holiday theme
31 October: an alternative to Hallowe'en with all of the fun of celebrating Jesus, the Light of the World – and NO WITCHES, GHOSTS OR SCARY, BAD THINGS
There is no charge, but donations are welcome. The Good Egg Club is open to all 4-11 years old, but places are currently limited to 50 and booking is essential. For more information, to join the Club list or if you would like to help in any way:
